Summer Singing!

Our Season
Our season is from mid-August through early June, following the school calendar. Choristers meet weekly to study and rehearse, concentrating on theory, sight-reading, and vocal technique.
Children progress through the Training and Intermediate levels of the Chorus until they reach the Concert Group. Sight-singing, vocal technique and stage presence are given careful attention as the choristers learn and prepare for performance.
Like a fine orchestra or sports team, the Chorus is a special opportunity, and it requires a special commitment. The Chorus is dependent upon each member; the quality of the sound depends upon each individual being prepared, being at rehearsal, and every concert. Being a musician is a life-long process which requires daily practice and nurturing. While many activities compete for a child’s time and attention, it takes a plan to make music a part of their lives.

Academically, the arts (especially music) are the best way to increase a child’s overall achievement in his life.

Membership
Participation in the Santa Rosa Children’s Choral Academy is for boys and girls from ages 7 through high school. To preserve the soprano and alto ranges of the Chorus, boys may remain members until their voices change.
New members, with no prior singing experience and between the ages of 7-12, are welcome to audition. Auditions are held in early June, late August and early January. Please contact us for more information or to schedule an audition.
Tuition
Membership in the Santa Rosa Children’s Choral Academy is a year commitment. Tuition depends on group level. For specific fees, please call 707-527- 8813. Financial Aid is available for families that need assistance.
